Our engagement on this project came from references from the client's Architect whom we had worked with previously, following a successful formal tendering process. The scope involved the removal of an existing conservatory followed by the construction of a rear single storey extension.
Due to the ground conditions, the proposed standard strip foundations were altered to piled foundations with a concrete ground beam. The opening in to the house was increased by the installation of structural steelwork. To maintain the large amount of incoming light which the previous conservatory provided, Velux roof lights were installed and large proportions of glazing to three elevations, including aluminium sliding doors as per the design. Trades provided to deliver the project included groundworks, brickwork, joinery, roofing, plastering, electrics and painting.
